Operation Restock: Team Members of Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel Stock Freezers at St. Francis Diner
July 31 , 2018
Team members at Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel heard the local call for help from St. Francis Diner in the neighboring community of New Iberia, La. In
late June, the diner experienced a catastrophic failure of their walk-in freezer; resulting in the loss thousands of dollars in food and unforeseen
costs related to repairing the walk-in. Team members recently purchased t-shirts as part of the fundraiser to raise funds to restock the freezer.
“We were saddened to hear of the loss experienced by the diner and we knew immediately that we had to do something to help,” said Richard Picard, Advertising
and Public Relations Manager, Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel. “We understand that the diner experiences higher than normal pressures during the summer
because the children are out of school and provides a sense of community to the area,” continued Picard.
The diner is looking to the community for support. St. Francis Diner accepts paper goods, cleaning products, nonperishable items, meat, and wild game.
“We greatly appreciate the support the diner has received over the last few weeks,” said Juanita Lewis, Executive Director, St. Francis Diner.
Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel, the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana and their team members are proud contributors to several local charities, non-profits
and causes from profit for the greater common good of the people of Acadiana.
The diner can be reached at (337) 369-3362. Monetary donations can be sent to St. Francis Diner: P.O. Box 9106, New Iberia, LA 70562.
